Your bike reaches your new city without a single scratch.

Your scooter or motorcycle is not just a vehicle. It is how you get to work, how you pick up vegetables, and maybe the first big thing you ever bought with your own salary. When you move to a new city, you want it there with you, in the same shape you left it.

Lifter Shifter picks up your two-wheeler from your door, packs it in layers of foam, bubble wrap and corrugated sheet, ties it firmly inside a closed truck and delivers it to your new address. We note its condition with photos at both ends, so there is never any confusion about how it left and how it arrived.

Move my bike

Tell us where it is going. We will call back with a clear price.

We usually call back within 30 minutes. Your number stays with us.

Our promise for your bike

One bike. One label. One clear promise.

Every bike we move gets its own label with your name, both addresses and the bike's registration number. It also gets a written condition report signed by you and our team. That way, your bike is never "one of the bikes in the truck". It is your bike, with your details, tracked from your gate to your new one.

"Not a single scratch" is a high bar, and we set it on purpose. Most damage to two-wheelers in transit is small: a cracked indicator, a scuffed side panel, a bent mirror, a dent in the tank from a loose rope. All of these come from rushed packing or poor tying. So we pack slowly, tie carefully and check everything twice before the truck leaves.

If anything does go wrong on the road, the photos and condition report make it clear and simple to sort out. You will not need to argue or prove anything. Your move manager handles it with you.

What we move

Scooters, commuter bikes, sports bikes and electric scooters

Every two-wheeler has its own shape and its own weak spots. A scooter has a wide plastic body that scratches easily. A sports bike has a low fairing and expensive parts. An electric scooter has a battery that needs care. We plan the packing around the bike you actually own.

Scooters

Scooters have large painted panels and plastic body parts that mark easily. We cover the whole body in foam and bubble wrap, pay extra attention to the front apron and floorboard, and make sure no rope touches the paint directly.

Commuter motorcycles

The everyday bike that does the office run in heat and rain. We protect the tank, the headlight, the indicators and the silencer, which are the parts most likely to get hit when bikes are loaded side by side.

Premium and sports bikes

Fairings, long levers, alloy wheels and custom parts need extra layers and more space in the truck. Tell us if your bike has a crash guard, saddle bags or aftermarket parts, so we can plan for them.

Electric scooters

We move e-scooters too. Follow your maker's manual, and in general keep the battery at a medium charge rather than full or empty, switch the scooter fully off, and pack the charger separately. Your move manager will confirm anything specific to your model.

How we pack

Layer by layer, from paint to tyre

A bike is packed in layers, and each layer has its own job. One stops scratches, one absorbs bumps, and one takes the hits from the outside. Packing usually takes 30 to 45 minutes per bike, and it happens right outside your home so you can watch.

  1. 1

    Foam on every painted surface

Soft foam sheets go directly on the tank, side panels, mudguards and seat. Foam is gentle on paint and stops the outer layers from rubbing and leaving fine scratches over a long journey.

  2. 2

    Bubble wrap for the bumps

A layer of bubble wrap goes over the foam. It absorbs the small shocks from potholes and speed breakers, and keeps dust and moisture away from the body during monsoon months.

  3. 3

    Corrugated sheet as armour

Thick corrugated sheet is wrapped around the tank, the sides and the silencer. This is the hard outer shell. If something presses against the bike in the truck, the sheet takes it, not your paint.

  4. 4

    Wheels and rims wrapped

Rims, spokes and alloy wheels are wrapped separately, and the brake disc area is covered. Wheels are the part that rests on the truck floor and touches the ramp, so they need their own protection.

  5. 5

    Handles, levers and mirrors

Mirrors are usually taken off, wrapped and packed in a marked bag that travels with the bike. Handlebar ends, clutch and brake levers and indicators get extra foam, because they stick out and get hit first.

  6. 6

    Tied upright in the truck

The packed bike goes up a ramp, stands upright on its stand and is tied at several points with padded straps or ropes. It cannot roll, tip or lean on anything else during the trip.

Condition check

Photos before it leaves. Photos when it arrives.

Before we put a single sheet of foam on your bike, our team walks around it with you. We note every existing scratch, dent and crack on a condition report and take clear photos from the front, back, both sides and close up on any marks. We also note the odometer reading and the fuel level.

You check the report, sign it, and keep a copy. We suggest you take your own photos on your phone too. It takes five minutes and gives you complete peace of mind.

At delivery, we unpack the bike in front of you and compare it with the same report and photos. If everything matches, you sign and ride away. If something does not match, we write it down right there, before you sign, so it can be handled properly.

WHAT THE REPORT RECORDS
  • Registration number, make, model and colour
  • Existing scratches, dents and cracks
  • Odometer reading and fuel level
  • Parts removed and packed separately, like mirrors
  • Photos from every side, signed by both of us
Before pickup day

Getting your bike ready to travel

A few small things on your side make the move safer and smoother. None of them take long. Try to do them a day before pickup, so you are not rushing on the morning the truck arrives.

Keep the fuel tank nearly empty

Ride it until the tank is close to reserve, with just enough fuel to start the bike and ride it to a petrol pump at the other end. Less fuel means less weight and less risk of leaks or smell inside a closed truck. Please do not fill up the tank the day before the move.

Take off the helmet and accessories

Remove your helmet, phone holder, tank bag, saddle bags, seat cover and anything loose that can fall off. Pack them with your household goods or carry them yourself. A helmet left hanging on the mirror is the most common thing to go missing in any bike move.

Empty the toolkit and the dickey

Take out the toolkit, spare keys, raincoats, gloves and papers from under the seat or the scooter dickey. Things left inside can rattle, break or simply be forgotten. Keep the spare key safely with you, not with the bike.

Keep papers ready

Keep photocopies of the registration certificate (RC), a valid insurance policy and your ID handy. Some routes or situations may need a few more papers, like a letter if the bike is in someone else's name. Your move manager will confirm exactly which papers your move needs. Keep the originals with you.

Wash it and check it

A clean bike makes the condition check honest and easy, because dust can hide small scratches. Also check tyre pressure and note any warning lights or problems, so they are on the report before the bike travels.

Tell us about anything special

A bike that does not start, a flat tyre, a crash guard, a modified exhaust or a long windshield all change how we load and pack. A quick message to your move manager means the team arrives with the right material and enough hands.

Door to door

We come to your gate. We deliver to your gate.

You do not need to ride your bike to a depot or a railway parcel office and wait in a queue. Our team comes to your home at the time you choose, whether it is a society parking in Gurugram or a narrow lane in old Lucknow. We pack the bike on the spot and load it into a closed truck.

If the truck cannot enter your lane, the team will walk the bike to the nearest point where the truck can stop safely. If your society needs a gate pass or an entry slip for the vehicle, let us know a day before so you can arrange it with the security desk.

How long will it take?

Within the same city, your bike can usually be delivered on the same day or the next day. For intercity moves, transit time depends on the distance and the route, and is usually around 3 to 8 days. A move from Delhi to Jaipur will take less time than one from Kolkata to Bengaluru. Your move manager gives you an expected delivery date in writing when you book.

Things like heavy monsoon rain, festival traffic or road closures can sometimes add a little time. When that happens, we tell you early instead of letting you find out at the last minute. You can call or message your move manager at any point during transit to ask where your bike is.

Need the bike to wait a few days because your new flat is not ready? We can keep it safely in storage and deliver when you are ready. Read about storage.

Two ways to book

With your household goods, or on its own

Some people are moving their whole home and the bike is one part of it. Others are moving only the bike, maybe for a new job, a college course or to send it to a family member. Both are simple to book. Here is how they differ.

Along with your house move

The bike travels in the same truck as your furniture and boxes, loaded last and tied in its own space so nothing rests on it. Everything reaches together, you deal with one team and one bill, and adding the bike usually costs less than booking it separately. This is the easiest choice for a family moving a 2 BHK from Hyderabad to Pune.

Intercity relocation

Bike only

Moving just your bike? We give it the same packing, the same condition report and the same door-to-door service. It may travel with other customers' bikes or goods on a shared route, each one tied separately. This suits a student shifting to a new college city or someone who has already moved and now wants the bike to follow.

Ask for a bike-only quote

Either way, your written quote shows the full cost for the bike, including packing and loading, so you can compare clearly. The price depends on the distance, the type of bike and whether it travels alone or with your goods. Indicative price: ₹3,000 to ₹7,000 within the city, and ₹7,000 to ₹18,000 between cities. Transit insurance is available as an add-on, and your move manager will explain what it covers in plain words. About insurance.

New city. New road. Same old bike, exactly the way you left it.

Delivery day

What happens when your bike arrives

We call you before we reach, so you or someone you trust can be at the gate. The team unloads the bike down the ramp, removes every layer of packing and puts the mirrors back on. We take the packing material away with us, so you are not left with a pile of foam and sheets in your parking.

Then we check the bike together against the pickup report and photos. Take your time. Look at the tank, the panels, the indicators and the wheels. Start the engine, or switch on your e-scooter, and make sure everything works.

  1. 1

    Check before you sign

Sign the delivery note only after the check. If you find anything new, it gets written on the note right then, with a photo.

  2. 2

    Fill up and ride

Since the tank is nearly empty, ride straight to the nearest petrol pump. For an e-scooter, charge it fully before your first long ride.

  3. 3

    Raise any issue quickly

If you spot something later, tell your move manager within 48 hours so it can be looked at while the details are fresh.

Common questions

Bike transport questions

These are the questions bike owners ask us most. If yours is not here, call or send a WhatsApp message on +91 93261 78863. We are happy to explain.

Read all questions

Can I ride the bike to the new city instead?

You can, and some people enjoy it. But a long ride means fuel, tolls, a night stay, wear on the tyres and tiredness, plus your bike's papers must be in order on the road. For long distances, shipping is often safer and less tiring.

Why should the fuel tank be nearly empty?

Less fuel means less weight and less chance of a leak or petrol smell inside a closed truck. Keep just enough to start the bike and reach a petrol pump at the other end.

Which papers do I need?

Usually copies of the RC, insurance and your ID. Your move manager will confirm the exact list for your move. Keep the originals with you, not in the bike.

Do you move electric scooters?

Yes. In general, keep the battery at a medium charge, switch the scooter fully off and pack the charger separately. Always follow your maker's manual, and tell us the model when you book.

Can I leave my helmet on the bike?

Please do not. Pack the helmet with your household goods or carry it with you. Loose items on the bike can fall, break or get lost.

Can you pick up a bike that does not start?

Yes. Tell us in advance so we send enough people to push and lift it onto the ramp safely. It will be noted on the condition report.

How do I know where my bike is?

Your move manager shares updates during transit. You can call or message them at any time to check.

Ready to send your bike ahead?

Tell us the pickup city, the delivery city and your bike model. We will call you back with a clear, written price.
